Daniel Sievert: Principal

Daniel Sievert graduated with a secondary education degree in Music and Physical Education from Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska in 1994.  He taught seven years at Lutheran High School North in Macomb, Michigan while earning a graduate degree in Educational Leadership from Saginaw Valley State University.  After serving as principal for five years at Sioux Valley Lutheran High School in Lakefield, Minnesota, Daniel took the call in 2006 to be principal of Trinity Lutheran High School.

Daniel is married and has two children.  His wife, Amy, also graduated from Concordia, Seward, teaching six years in Lutheran elementary schools.  She now serves as full-time mom for their son, Nathan, and daughter Holly.  The Sieverts are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour.

 

Michael Bridges: Development Director

Michael Bridges was called to Trinity Lutheran High School, starting August 1, 2005, as their Director of Development.  Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology, a Minor in Psychology, and a DCE Certification from Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska, 1992.  Prior to his arrival at TLHS, Michael served as an Advancement Officer for Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN., and at two LCMS congregations as their DCE; Gloria Christi Lutheran Church in Greeley, CO, and Messiah Lutheran Church in Holt, MI.  Michael and his wife, Mary are the parents of three grown children, Michelle Bauman in Columbus, IN, Mark Bridges in Harrisburg, SD, and Matthew Bridges in Greeley, CO.

John Anderson: Social Studies, National Honor Society

John Anderson is a graduate of Concordia Teacher's College, Seward, Nebraska.  He has a Masters degree in American history from the University of Nebraska.  He has taught at Lutheran schools in North Miami, Florida, and Clarinda, Iowa.  He is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Seymour.

 

Michelle Bauman: English, Drama, Recruitment Coordinator

Michelle Bauman is a 1998 graduate of Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in the Language Arts field.  She taught English for four years in Fort Wayne, Indiana, before joining Trinity’s staff and now lives in Columbus with her husband and two sons.

 

Don Brown: Art, Chemistry, Technology

Don Brown graduated from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois in 1997 with a B.A. in secondary education, art and chemistryHe received his Masters degree from Indiana University in secondary education with specialties in visual arts and school administration.  Don taught art and chemistry in the Detroit area for five years before joining Trinity's staff.  He, along with his wife, Melissa, and children, Ryan and Lauren, are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour.

 

Larry Cooper: Guidance Counselor

Larry graduated from Butler University in 1968 with a B.S. in Secondary Education and teaching endorsements in business education, physical education, health, and driver education.  He received his M.S. in Secondary Education in 1971 from Indiana University.  Larry has life licenses in counseling and guidance.  Larry has 37 years of experience, serving as a counselor at Seymour High School for 27 years.  He and his wife, Marilyn, have two children, Scott and Stephanie.

 

Rebecca Helmer: English and World History

Rebecca graduated from Concordia, Seward, and taught 11 years at Concordia Lutheran in Tomball, TX in the areas of English, journalism, creative writing, and newspaper.  She teaches ninth and tenth grade English and World History.  She resides in Seymour.

 

Matt Jung: Theology

Matt graduated from Concordia, Chicago where he majored in language arts and minored in theology.  He comes to Trinity following a year of teaching language at Hauser, and many years of service at Camp Lakeview.  He teaches theology to 9th-12th graders at Trinity.  He and his wife, Ingrid, live in Columbus and attend St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clifty.

 

Bonnie Koontz: Accounting

Bonnie is teaching accounting at Trinity following her retirement after many years of service at Crothersville High School.  Bonnie is married to Arv Koontz and resides in Seymour.

 

Aaron Rudzinski: Biology and Athletic Director

Aaron is a graduate of Concordia, River Forest and he comes from Central Lutheran School in Rochester, MN where he taught science and served as athletic director for seven years.  He will serve as athletic director and teach in the areas of biology as well as coach basketball.  He and his wife, Emilie, have two daughters, Sophia and Lydia.  They live in Seymour and attend Immanuel Lutheran Church.

 

Leah Schneider: Instrumental and Vocal Music, Drama

Leah Schneider received a Bachelor of Music Education in 1981 and a Master of Music Education in 1984 from Indiana University, Bloomington.  She has 12 years of teaching experience in public school systems in Indiana in addition to her parochial school teaching experience.  Leah and her husband, Gary, have three children: Layna, Ryan, and Lexi.  They are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour.

 

Bryan Schroer: Agriculture, FFA

Bryan is a 1983 graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Agriculture Education. After graduation, Bryan worked at the Bartholomew County Extension Office as an Extension Program Assistant along with farming 500 acres. Since 1993 Bryan has been a Real Estate Appraiser with Pieper Real Estate in Columbus. He continues to farm 400 acres and lives on the family farm in southern Bartholomew County. Bryan and his wife, Linda, have two children Abby and Tom. They are members of St. John Lutheran Church in White Creek.

Renee Scoville: Health, P.E.

Renee Scoville is a 1999 graduate of Hope College in Holland, Michigan.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education, K-12, and Social Studies, 6-12.  She previously taught seven years of middle school physical education in Stockbridge, MI, while earning a master’s degree in sports administration from Michigan State University.  Renee teaches P.E. and Health at both Trinity and Immanuel Lutheran School in Seymour.  She is also the varsity girl’s basketball coach for Trinity Lutheran High School.  Renee and her husband J.D. reside in Seymour.

Jackie Stuckwisch: Mathematics

Jackie is a graduate of Indiana University. She holds a degree in Secondary Mathematics Education. Her previous teaching experience includes 5 years at Heritage Hills High School and 5 semesters at Trinity Lutheran School in Darmstadt, Indiana. She has also completed her course work for the Mequon colloquy program and is anticipating being a rostered teacher for the LC-MS. She and her husband are blessed with four children; Daniel, Sarah, Leah, and Matthew.

 

Lindsey Trah: Spanish, Student Government, Dance Committee, Yearbook

Lindsey Trah is a 2005 graduate of Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education with concentrations in Spanish and History.  She resides in Seymour and attends Zion Lutheran Church.

Justin Vorthmann: Mathematics

Justin graduated from Concordia, Seward, and has five years teaching experience teaching at Trinity Lutheran in Cedar Rapids, IA.  He teaches Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Calculus and serves as assistant soccer coach.  Justin is married to Abigail (Abby) and they have two children, Benjamin and Loren.  They live in Seymour and attend Zion Lutheran Church.

 

Mark Luedeman: Maintenance Director

Mark comes to Trinity with a background in farming, construction, and supervision.  Mark is a graduate of Crothersville High School.  He and his wife, Linda, reside south of Seymour and attend Seymour Christian Church.  Mark and Linda have six children, eight grandchildren, and a pug puppy named Cleo.

 

 

Kathy Overgaard: Administrative Assistant

Kathy was born in Wisconsin.  She served as secretary at St. Paul Lutheran School in Flint, MI for 17 years, and came to serve at Trinity in 2003.  Kathy and her husband, Kim, have one son, Nickolas, a daughter-in-law, Angela, and one grandchild, Alex.  They live in Seymour and attend Zion Lutheran Church.
