School History
Trinity Lutheran High School is owned and operated by the South Central Lutheran Association for Secondary Education, Inc., an association of 14 Lutheran congregations in Scott, Jennings, Bartholomew, and Jackson Counties. In October 1998, an exploratory committee was formed to investigate the formation of a Lutheran high school in our region. By April 2000, thirteen congregations voted to join the association with the fourteenth joining in July of that year. A centrally located 41-acre tract of land was donated to the association by Don M and Emmy Lou Bollinger of Seymour as the site of the new campus. In August 2000, the school’s first principal moved to Seymour to begin the process of organizing the new school. A capital campaign began at the same time and $2.1 million was raised to build the new campus. Trinity opened for classes in August 2001 at First Baptist Church in Seymour. Trinity has grown consistently in enrollment and programming over the last 20 years. Currently, Trinity proudly represents 7 counties within their student body and welcomes all families who desire a private, Christian education for their children.
