Welcome from the School Counselor

Hello, my name is Patrick Downey and I serve as Trinity’s School Counselor.

I enjoyed high school so much that I never wanted to leave, so after college, I came back as a high school teacher and eventually became a school counselor.

School counselors help to make the high school years as rewarding and productive as possible. This begins with scheduling classes and maintaining grades and credits for graduation but also includes the social aspects of teenage years that can impact academic success.

Trinity is committed to a Christian worldview and the counseling office works to help each student discover the ways that they can use the unique gifts God has given them in service to Him and others - while in high school and then later in life.

Each student will meet with the counselor annually to look at courses and discuss post-high school plans, but the counselor is involved in much more than that. In addition to college applications, the counseling office also maintains current employment, scholarship, and community information. The office is open to students at any time that they have need.
